Day 361 (11.06.14) Thirsty Thursday

 

  1. Get moving: I burned 1,923 calories.  I walked 1.70 miles on the treadmill, 3.30 miles on the elliptical, and biked 2.80 miles.
  2. Cutting Calories(Goal 1,720): I consumed 1,719 calories.
  3. Saving money/Donations ($5,000)$1,448.

 

My goal for the day was to get back to drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day, but I would like to drink way more than that.  I’m calling today mission accomplished I drank 104 ounces of water.  Got up early and went to work for a little bit, then hit the gym, then crocheted a blanket, and went back to work. I was super productive at work today, I’m ready for my meeting tomorrow and I organized a whole bunch of stuff and it was awesome! I’m feeling amazing today, getting back on to the swing of things.

Day 282 (08.19.14) Intended to Take a Zero… So Much For That.

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 1,388 calories.  I walked 2 miles on the treadmill, one mile outside, and ran .90 miles.  
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 1,990 calories.
  3. Saving money/Donations ($5,000)$820.00

I woke up this morning and decided I was going to dedicate today to knitting and take a zero, I have been reading about how taking a days rest every once and a while helps your body.  I couldn’t help myself I’m so used to working out it would have felt awful to sit around knitting all day.  I started finished another scarf and started a new finger puppet today, when my wife left for work I hit the gym.  I spent about 45 minutes walking 2 miles on the treadmill before heading to work.  I ran home from work tonight I need to get some energy out, it felt great.  I don’t always run but when I do it feels AMAZING!! I always laugh at the looks I get from people walking or in there cars as I pass, I guess you don’t see a 292 pound woman run every day.  🙂 The best part of today is that I didn’t feel like I was under pressure to work out and get fit but that my body wanted/needed it.  I did over eat today by 490 calories which isn’t good but it happened and tomorrow will be a better day for eating! Tomorrow is weigh in day, I’m hopeful for good results with a few over eating days I’m never quite sure how weigh in will go.  Until tomorrow,

Day 240 (07.08.14) Too Many Calories in One Meal

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 1,253 calories.  I ran .60 miles, walked 1 mile, and hiked 2.89 miles
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 2,565 calories.
  3. Saving money ($5,000)$300

Today would have been a great day had I not had left over Olive Garden for lunch, that alone was 1,500 calories which is usually my daily limit.  When your day starts off that way it’s hard to keep a clear head and not continue to over eat all day.  It didn’t go well today but tomorrow is a new day.

Day 239 (07.07.14) Sick day

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 0,000 calories.
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 2,398 calories.

Today I took a sick day from work and slept until afternoon, that seemed to help a bit, I took it slow today and didn’t really do much to give my body time to fully heal.  I didn’t make it home from Trevor’s until almost 7 P.M. driving any sooner wasn’t an option, by the time I got home I was feeling better and was finally able to eat and feel ok.  My wife took me on a date to Olive Garden for dinner! Over all it wasn’t a good calorie or workout day at all but it was much needed.  I’m glad I covered my shift because work would have sucked this morning!

Day 230 (06.28.14) Pride Day 1!

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 2,152 calories.  I walked about 7 miles today.

Today was a great day to let go and just enjoy the day at Pride.  Not much to write, I got to hang out with people I don’t get to see often and just be free to be me.  It’s an amazing feeling being able to take my wife’s hand and not worry about getting harassed!! We walked around in the skyways for a while and just spent some time together!

Day 227 (06.25.14) Weigh in Woes

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 3,151 calories.  I ran 0.50 miles, went 7.70 miles on the elliptical, and walked 4.25 miles.
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 1,885 calories.
  3. Saving money ($5,000)$300

So the three days I spent with Trevor and Allie really killed my weigh in results.  I weighed in at 296.6 pounds thats a 4.6 pound gained from last week.  It felt awful to see that number but it also provided great motivation to kick my butt into gear at my workout this morning.  I wish I had that resolve when my wife brought home cookies.  We went shopping for Pride tonight and got all kinds of fruits and veggies to go with our less healthy option! I can’t wait to spend three days with people I love! I’m excited to spend my first pride not feeling like crap from all the walking at this point I’m ready for it.  🙂  I wish that the weigh in today wasn’t so bad but I brought that onto myself, I will be better next week.

Day 225 (06.23.14) Busy busy day

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 1,320 calories. I walked 2.20 miles on the treadmill today.

I was at work from 8 am to 9 pm today, I didn’t get nearly the workout that I wish I had.  I could have done better but I didn’t and thats on me.  After this weekend I really need to get back into the swing of things this coming weekend has a lot going on so I really need to do really well this week! It’s funny how much my body hates me for not eating well over the weekend.  Tomorrow is a new day, I shall make it count!

Day 219 (06.17.14) Slow day

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 944 calories.  I ran a mile on the treadmill, biked 2 miles, and walked a mile.
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 1,705 calories.

Today I didn’t get as much of a workout as I would have liked too.  I did get a good sweat in by running on the treadmill.  I just haven’t been wanting to work out lately, in the past 200 or so days this has only happened a few times so I know it will pass just need to get there! I’m sure that tomorrows weigh in will be motivation to get me back into working out.  I over ate today too, I was doing great up until 7:45 PM when I ate a cheddar hotdog, for the stupidest reason ever, because I was worried it wouldn’t be in the fridge tomorrow.  Who does that? Who was going to eat it? No one but me! I don’t understand it but it happened I will pay for it when I get on the scale tomorrow.  I plan on getting up early and getting my workout in before work so that I don’t have to worry about it.  Tomorrow night I have a staff meeting which usually means a pretty late night for me.

Day 147 (04.06.14) Hiking a state Park!

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 2,743 calories. I walked 1.20 miles today then hiked almost 6 miles with Katey wearing a low weight pack, today!

Today Katey and I hiked some steep and high hills it was good.  I feel like I’m not even close to ready compared to the A.T. today was child’s play, this means I need to start getting more hills in.  I have come a long way but I need to kick it up a notch! I fell for the first time since we started this, Katey and I were climbing a really steep hill that was muddy and I fell, nothing serious just a sore knee, I was kind of surprised to note that this is the first time I have fallen.  I usually fall a lot so once is awesome! Also I added a photo tab that I’m going to post my pictures to!

Day 137 (03.27.14) No Motivation Today!

  1. Get moving: Today I burned 1,545 calories.  I walked 2 miles and shoveled a lot! Total I worked out for almost 2 hours.
  2. Cutting Calories: I consumed 1,617 calories.
  3. Saving money ($5,000):$295

Today was a great day just to sit around, I started off my morning with a nice cup of coffee and a book curled up (yep I said curled up) in my chair!! It was one of my goals to be able to sit in my chair comfortably with my legs crosses pretzel style, I have been able to do this for a while now but today it took no effort and was so comfy it took me a while to realize I was even doing it! I don’t think that this is entirely due to weight loss but more to being more flexible and in-tune with my body.  I had a friend come over and we drank coffee and talked while looking at pictures from quite awhile ago including pictures from when I hiked the Camino De Santiago. I walked on the treadmill before going to work but didn’t go nearly as far as I normally do, I also didn’t work out like I normally do, it was a dreary day all around.  I find myself wondering about other hikers often and where they might be on the A.T. right now. I am also questioning if Katey and I planned to far in advance for this trip, while my resolve to hike has not wavered my patience is running thin, I hope that when I get to do some camping this summer that will calm me down.
